Boston University
With over 1,500 2-lamp surface lens wrap style fixtures end to end, inconsistent light levels provided unflattering light throughout the space. Uncomfortable, dingy, yellow in color, the aging fixtures were beyond their useful life. Extremely high maintenance and energy cost, and ongoing problems throughout the space needed to be addressed. Energy Conservation (ECI) redesigned the space using 2x2 recessed LED lighting fixtures and greatly improved the quality, light level and color of lighting within the space. By recessing the new lighting, ECI was able to improve the quality of lighting in these areas. The benefits to the Boston University Library include a significant reduction in energy consumption, reduced maintenance costs, improved visual quality of light, and increased incentive from the local utility company. |

Whitman-Hanson Regional High School
The Whitman-Hanson Regional High School, built in 2006, is one of the most technologically advanced schools in Massachusetts. The lighting systems installed when the school was built featured popular lighting systems that are still to this day specified in newly constructed schools and offices. Energy Conservation audited the building and found lighting solutions to save energy and even further improve the already beautiful aesthetics of the building. The existing lighting was replaced in a large portion of the building with new volumetric LED lighting systems. The inefficient metal halide gymnasium and cafeteria lighting was replaced with LED lighting systems featuring integrated infrared occupancy sensors. The benefits to the High School include a significant reduction in energy consumption, improved aesthetics and quality of light, and a large incentive from National Grid, the local electric utility company.

Albert Basse Associates
Albert Basse Associates is one of the longest continually operating, family-owned, large format digital and screen print manufacturers in the nation. With over 90 years behind them, ABA has been the go-to graphics provider for the beverage industry and recently awarded the Golden Image Award from the Special Graphic Image Association. ABA is a “customer first” organization that relies on the distribution of high-quality POS, sign, and graphic display solutions. ABA had inefficient 8-foot flourescent tubes that plauged the production area and created hassle for maintenance and produced poor light levels. Energy Conservation was able to provide a retrofit solution that not only increased light levels, but also achieve great electrical savings. |
